The first cheek teeth both on the top and bottom receive special attention because it is here where excessive cheek tissue becomes trapped when bit pressure is applied. After watching these videos, please go to my articles and read the one titled "Flabby Cheeks." There is a picture there that describes what I am talking about.
Often this area is extremely sensitive and some horses require pain medication just for these spots alone.
