How Can I Be Passionate About Horse Teeth?

The opinions and views of this blog is for information and entertainment only and should not be used as a substitute for seeking advice from your veterinarian about your horse and your situation. Specific advice may only be given after a valid veterinary - client - patient relationship is made. What fuels you every day? Politics? A lover? A large cup of coffee with a moment of pre-dawn silence? Some days we have to dig for it. Days where obstacles block our every move and the day never ends. Thankfully I recharge my cells and fuel my tank every time I walk into a stall and connect with a horse. And after 41,000 floats, that's saying a lot!
This week 2 new clients found me through word of mouth. Both were afraid of what was to happen between me and their horse. The past experience had them both not sleep well the night before. The look of anxiety radiated from them in the way they talked, walked, moved their arms, and most importantly, the word that they said. "I'm scarred." "My horse won't like this." "You will need to drug him." Basically, their expectations for a great outcome were very low.
Not for me. I am at my fuel station and I get to fill up in these situations. Because after 26 years of floating, I have seen this before. I finish floating and the horse hangs his head low with comfort. Priceless describes the look of relief from both these ladies as the fear and tension released all of the contracted muscles in their face and body.
And as their tension drifts into a memory, it becomes my turn to face the obstacles that drain me. For you see, during my visit, I hear the story of why the owner feared this moment. What saddens my heart I will delve into in the next blog. See you then. Geoff
